Exchanges
OUTGOING EXCHANGES
  • swap your place at Douglas College with a student at an institution abroad that you wish to attend
  • pay Douglas College tuition and fees, a fraction of what you would pay as an international student
  • take courses at prestigious universities and colleges in exciting locations 
  • immerse yourself in another culture and quickly improve language skills
  • many exchanges are Global Competency Certificate Eligible

INCOMING EXCHANGES

Field Schools     

  • like extended field trips
  • led by one to three Douglas instructors depending on the number of courses
  • start with about four weeks of classes here
  • Then, students and instructors travel (usually together) to the international destination where the program continues
  • free time on weekends for own exploring
  • program ends at the international location so you can go anywhere afterward

Degree Completion
  • finish your four-year university degree in only three years!
  • students who have completed a two-year program at Douglas College may be eligible to transfer to a university in Wales or Australia
  • enrol and graduate from the host university as an international student

Summer Sessions
Culture and Language, Academic Study
  • get a taste of study abroad in short-term summer program
  • deepen your cultural understanding and language skills
  • some summer sessions also offer the opportunity to take academic courses in English which may be eligible for transfer credit
  • pay only Douglas College tuition
  • some summer programs are Global Competency Certificate Eligible

USA 
  • spend summer studying in one of America's most popular cities, New York or San Francisco
  • Columbia University in New York City and the University of California - Berkeley offer short-term summer session courses for international students 
  • attend as a visiting international student, meaning students apply directly with the partner institution and pay international student tuition rates.

Work and Learn
  • Study and gain work experience at the same time internationally with peers from around the world
  • Some programs enable students to earn to offset costs
